Most no-code chatbot builders sacrifice capability for simplicity — producing bots that feel like decision trees dressed up in AI clothing. Querlo Studio needed to break this tradeoff: give non-technical users a genuinely easy experience while supporting RAG knowledge bases, API integrations, and multi-step automation under the hood.

The UX challenge was immense. The platform needed to handle three distinct user types simultaneously: marketing managers building simple lead-gen bots, operations teams building complex internal knowledge assistants, and developers who needed escape hatches into raw configuration.

Each user type had different mental models, different success metrics, and radically different tolerance for complexity.

Progressive Disclosure at Every Level

Digital Design Firenze led the end-to-end UX and interface design for Querlo Studio, applying a progressive disclosure architecture: every screen shows only what's needed for the current task, with advanced options surfaced contextually rather than upfront.

The visual conversation builder uses a node-based canvas familiar to anyone who has used Figma or Miro — dramatically reducing the learning curve. Knowledge base management is handled through a drag-and-drop document uploader that processes PDFs, URLs, and spreadsheets into vector embeddings automatically.

For developers, a full JSON configuration mode sits behind every visual element, providing complete control without forcing complexity on casual users.
